4 Mile Race and Health Walk

This race is in memory of Tony Sapienza, a dedicated father, teacher, coach and runner. He ran for Central Catholic, Boston College, and the BAA. He placed 4th in the Boston Marathon, 6th in the 1963 Olympic Marathon Trials, and won 33 New England Championship medals. Tony suffered a heart attack after breaking the American Master's record for 3000 meters in 1987 at Brown University. The steady beat of his life continues to this day and is strengthened by his family. They have used this race to keep his memory alive and to help Haverhill High School graduates further their education through a scholarship in his name.

Entry Fee: Pre-entry $15 with T-Shirt, Post-entry $20 with T-Shirt (while supplies last)
Awards: Cash prize to the first overall male and female finishers.
Merchandise or gift certificates to top finishers in the age group categories.
Age Groups: Male and female 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Special Recognition: First HHS graduate, first school teacher, first Haverhill police officer, and the Audrey Sapienza Memorial Award. (This award will be given to the highest fundraiser for the Sapienza Memorial Scholarship Fund)

Directions: From Boston - Take Rte 93 North to Rte 495 North. Take exit 50 (Rte 97 Broadway, Haverhill). Proceed to the end of the exit ramp continue straight across the Rte 97 intersection onto Monument Street. Haverhill High School is 1/4 mile on the right.
From New Hampshire - Take Rte 495 South to Exit 50 (Rte 97 Broadway, Haverhill). Proceed to the end of the exit ramp. Take a left onto Rte 97. Continue 2/10 of a mile and take a left onto Monument Street. Haverhill High School is 1/4 mile on the left.

I know that running is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter or run this event unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running in this race including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including high heat and/or humidity, the conditions of the road and traffic on the course, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of your acceptance of my application, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the event, and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.
